第３戦隊 「金剛」（こんがう）

ようやく「金剛」をリニューアル出来ました。前回製作したのが４年前でしたが、その出来具合に不満がありましたので今回製作し直しました。当初ここまで全面的に作り直すハメになるとは全く考えず、最初は艦橋のみ簡単に手直しする予定でした。しかし製作を始めると次から次へと追加作業が出てきて、結局船体から艦橋からほとんど作り直しになってしまいました。
なおほとんど作り直したとはいえ、時間の節約もあって煙突、後部艦橋、副砲等は前の作品からそのままコンバートしました。４年前の拙い技量がそのまま出ていますので、一部お見苦しいかもしれません(^^;)。
上甲板にあるほとんどの通風筒や飛行機作業甲板上のベンチレータの各位置、煙突の雨除けカバーや第４砲塔上の通信アンテナの複雑な形状、飛行機作業甲板と水偵運搬軌条の形状にいたるまで、出来る限り図面に沿って再現したつもりです。

KONGO is now renewed because I have been thinking the result of
the work that I made 4 years ago entirely dissatisfied. In the
beginning of the plan of renewal I was going to remake only the
bridge part. However, I almost remade all newly after all,
because a lot of additional works occurred right away from the
production start. Due to the economy in time, only some parts
like the chimney, back bridge, subgun etc. converted from the
work of 4 years ago. Please acknowledge this point.
I'm going to reproduced along the drawing as much as possible.
For example, almost all ventilators that are in the upper deck,
large ventilators that are in the airplane work deck, rain covers
of each chimneys, the complicated forms of the communication
antenna on the 4th turret and the forms of airplane work deck and
the deck rails for the reconnaissance floatplanes etc.

さて、日本の戦艦の中で最も艦齢が古いにもかかわらず、最も活躍したと言われる「金剛」型高速戦艦４隻ですが、フネの顔ともいえる艦橋はこの「金剛」と「霧島」が非常に精悍なイメージを与えます。第２次改装後の「金剛」は、「金剛」型戦艦４隻の中でも「霧島」とならんで特に艦橋の形状が立派で見映えがすると、私には思えます。（ホントにカッコ良いですね。）一方、「榛名」は重厚、「比叡」はスマートといったところでしょうか。
当サイトの「金剛」は太平洋戦争開戦時の仕様を旨としていますので、第２次改装後しばらくして舷外電路を装着した姿となっています。第２次改装当初から昭和１７年４月頃までは、第1煙突手前の上甲板の両舷に２５ｍｍ連装機銃を１基づつ装備していましたので、ご注意下さい。
The KONGO
class battleships (KONGO, HARUNA, HIEI, KIRISHIMA) were in full
activity, although 4 ships were oldest among the 12 battleships
at the time of outbreak of war. The bridges of KONGO and
KIRISHIMA give a very intrepid image. Among the KONGO class 4
ships, KONGO and KIRISHIMA after second modification seem
especially to be much to look at. Especially their bridges seem
magnificent. (They have really a good shape !!) On the other
hand, HARUNA seems to be dignified, and HIEI refinement.
The specifications of KONGO on this site set up in the time after
second modification and at the outbreak of war, she is made in
the condition which has the degaussing coils out of the hull. Each 25mm twin machinegun was
equipped to both sides of the upper deck of the 1st chimney front
in the period from second modification to April in Showa 17.
右舷後部からのショットは、いつもながら艦艇を美しく見せる定番のショットですね。
The shot from the starboard back always shows naval vessels
beautifully. It is the shot of the standard like that !!
なんとか戦艦の重厚さを表現したいと思い、ピントがぼけるギリギリの近さまで迫ってみました。「長門」や「扶桑」とはまた違った、巡洋戦艦らしいフットワークの良さが窺い知れるのではないでしょうか。
It got close to the utmost nearness that the focus was dim, to
express the dignity of the battleship. I'll be able to understand
the goodness of the footwork that looks like the nimble
battlecruiser unlike the battleships as NAGATO, FUSO and so on.
