　「千代田」は、先にご紹介した「千歳」とほとんど同じ作りになっています。説明文も一部重複することをご容赦下さい。「千代田」も、海軍公式図面をチェックしながら不足部分を追加し、出来るだけ公式図面に近づけるように製作しました。
　まずは、艦橋部分をクローズアップしてみましょう。一応艦橋部分の甲板にはリノリウムが張ってあったという設定にしています。というのは、最上甲板直下に居住室があるため、防音、防暑の面でリノリウムを張ることは不可欠であったと考えられるからです。（実は製作し終わったあとで気がついたのですが、どうやらここは木甲板の可能性があるようです(^^;)。）

CHIYODA is the almost same make as CHITOSE that I introduced previously. Please forgive that a part of explanation doubles. As you understand that you read production description(making point of CHITOSE & CHIYODA), I tried to add an insufficient part while checking a navy official drawing of CHITOSE and made her in the official drawing as faithfully as possible.
First of all, let's try to see the bridge part. For the present, I made with the setting that linoleum had been stretched to the deck of the bridge part. Because there exist a few residence room for the officers right under the most upper deck, it is conceivable that it was indispensable to stretch linoleum in terms of sound and heat isolation.
(However, there exists a certain possibility that this deck might be the tree deck from a photograph of CHIYODA. I noticed after I made her. )

　なお、「千代田」は開戦前の甲標的母艦への改装によって前部２基のカタパルトを撤去しました。また前後マスト間の張り線は、０．０３７ｍｍφの鮎釣り用テグスを使いました。ヤードからの旗用索は、伸ばしランナーから作ったものです。

CHIYODA was removed two front catapults by the remodeling to the special submarine mother ship before outbreak of war. Around the tension line between the mast used the silken gut for the sweetfish fishing of 0.037mmφ. The flag rope from the yard were made from heat-extended plastic rod.

　艦中央部や天蓋は、「千歳」とほぼ同じようになっています。エッチングパーツによる各種クレーン及びクレーン索の組み立ては、少々手こずるかもしれませんが、このクレーン群こそがこの艦の見せ場の１つです。
　戦前の写真の中に、この巨大な天蓋の上で相撲大会が開かれている様子を撮ったものがあります。たしかにこれだけ広ければ、相撲をやるのにぴったりかも（まぁ、野球やサッカーは無理ですが(^^;)）。

The ship center and canopy of CHIYODA are almost same as CHITOSE. The assembling of the various kinds crane and also crane wire by the photo-etched parts and brass rod may have a little bit trouble . These crane group are one of the high point of this ship.
There exists a photograph that shot the Sumo convention for the training on this huge canopy in the prewar days. Certainly, it is suitable to do Sumo that the canopy is enough wide.(Although, baseball and soccer are unreasonable.)

　艦尾にかけての上甲板には、４機の零式水偵が搭載されています。しかし知人の海上自衛隊一佐から戴いた資料によりますと、「千代田」の搭載飛行機定数は、開戦時には不明なものの、昭和17年2月以降３座水偵１機（２座水偵は不明）となっています。さすがに３座水偵1機では甲板が淋しすぎますので、飛行機定数に目をつぶって４機載せました。

4 AICHI E13A1Zero Reconnaissance floatplanes are installed to the upper deck of the stern. According to the data that I received from my friend Colonel of Maritime Self-Defense Force, the fixed number of installed airplane of CHIYODA at the outbreak of war is unknown. From February in Showa 17, 3 seat type floatplane is only one machine. (2seat type unknown.) Indeed, the decks is too lonesome in one 3seat type floatplane. So, I installed 4 machines without regard to the airplane fixed number.

　ということで、もう一度右舷後方から、「千代田」の勇姿をご覧下さい。　航行中を再現しましたので、軍艦旗を後ろマストに掲揚しました。なおこの軍艦旗ですが、紙製のものも市販されているものの、色合いや柔らかさからいって私はデカールの方が好みです。しかしデカールは経年変化に弱くしかもヨレヨレに縮むことがありますので、要注意ですね。
　軍艦旗のデカールもイタリアのカルトグラフ製にして欲しいと思うのは、（きっと）私だけではないと思うのですが、いかがでしょうか？

Well, please see the valiant figure of CHIYODA from the starboard rear again. Because the navigation situation is reproduced I hoisted the Japanese naval ensign to the back mast. I used decal for the Japanese naval ensign.

　このようなユニークな外見の艦は、やはりジオラマにしたいですね。「千代田」は全力疾走している姿をイメージしました。

After all, this warship of such the unique appearance wants to make a diorama. CHIYODA is made a diorama as her all energies are dashed.
