CHITOSE detail images

　「千歳」「千代田」とも、製作記をお読みいただくと分かりますが、海軍公式図面をチェックしながら不足部分を追加し、出来るだけ公式図面に近づけるように製作しました。まずは、艦首から艦橋にかけてを見てみましょう。

As you understand that you read production description(making point of CHITOSE & CHIYODA), I tried to add an insufficient part while checking a navy official drawing of CHITOSE and made her in the official drawing as faithfully as possible.
First of all, let's try to see the over bow through bridge.

　艦橋部分をクローズアップします。一応艦橋部分の甲板にはリノリウムが張ってあったという設定にしています。というのは、最上甲板直下に居住室があるため、防音、防暑の面でリノリウムを張ることは不可欠であったと考えられるからです。（「千代田」の場合、ある確かな写真を見たところ、どうやらここは木甲板の可能性があるようです(^^;)。「千歳」の方は不明です。）

　前後マスト間の張り線は、０．０３７ｍｍφの鮎釣り用テグスを使いました。ヤードからの旗用索は、伸ばしランナーから作ったものです。

The bridge part is focused on. For the present, I made with the setting that linoleum had been stretched to the deck of the bridge part. Because there exist a few residence room for the officers right under the most upper deck, it is conceivable that it was indispensable to stretch linoleum in terms of sound and heat isolation.
(However, there exists a certain possibility that CHIYODA's deck might be the tree deck from a photograph of CHIYODA. I noticed after I made her. It is indistinct in the case of CHITOSE.)

Around the tension line between the mast used the silken gut for the sweetfish fishing of 0.037mmφ. The flag rope from the yard were made from heat-extended plastic rod.

　エッチングパーツによる各種クレーン及びクレーン索の組み立ては、少々手こずるかもしれませんが、このクレーン群こそがこの艦の見せ場の１つです。
　戦前の写真の中に、この巨大な天蓋の上で相撲大会が開かれている様子を撮ったものがあります。たしかにこれだけ広ければ、相撲をやるのにぴったりかも（まぁ、野球やサッカーは無理ですが(^^;)）。

The assembling of the various kinds crane and also crane wire by the photo-etched parts and brass rod may have a little bit trouble . These crane group are one of the high point of this ship.
There exists a photograph that shot the Sumo convention for the training on this huge canopy in the prewar days. Certainly, it is suitable to do Sumo that the canopy is enough wide.(Although, baseball and soccer are unreasonable.)

　艦尾にかけての上甲板には、２機の零式水偵が搭載されています。知人の海上自衛隊一佐から戴いた資料によりますと、開戦時の「千歳」の搭載飛行機定数は、２座水偵が１６機、３座水偵察が４機となっています。

2 AICHI E13A1Zero Reconnaissance floatplanes are installed to the upper deck of the stern. According to the data that I received from my friend Colonel of Maritime Self-Defense Force, the fixed number of installed airplane of CHITOSE at the outbreak of war is as follows. 2seat type floatplanes are 16 machines, 3 seat type are 4 machines.

　ということで、このようなユニークな外見の艦は、やはりジオラマにしたいですね。繋船桁にランチやカッターが繋がれ、舷梯には内火艇が接岸している状況を再現してみました。

After all, this warship of such the unique appearance wants to make a diorama. The situation that the ship and various kinds boat and lunch are mooring in the harbor is just reproduced.
