「島風」（しまかぜ） ＜竣工時＞

SHIMAKAZE
この「島風」は、９９年７月に開催されました「戦前船舶研究会・第２回模型研究会」に出品する目的で、「北上」と並行して作業し大急ぎで竣工させたものです。高速・重雷装な駆逐艦としてあまりにも有名な「島風」ですので、模型研究会のテーマでありました『重雷装艦』にぴったりだと思い、出撃させました。会では、駆逐艦はいくら発射管を重雷装にしても日本海軍の慣例として『重雷装艦』とは言わないのではないか（巡洋艦以上だそうです。）との見解が出されまして、テーマそのものからは外れてしまいましたが、私個人は感覚的に「島風」はれっきとした『重雷装艦』だと思っています(^^)/。
This work SHIMAKAZE was made in order to display for the 2nd
shipmodel study meeting that was held in Yokohama in July, 1999. She
was made hurriedly in parallel to KITAKAMI work . SHIMAKAZE is
very famous as a highest speed and heavy equipment destroyer.
Because the performance of SHIMAKAZE satisfied the theme of the
2nd shipmodel study meeting, I participated and displayed her.
タミヤのキットは船底がダイキャスト製でして、「島風」のレリーフが彫られています。普段は展示台にネジで固定してありますので、ほとんど台から外すことはないのですが、ダイキャストのズッシリした重みといいレリーフの文字といい、なかなかオツなものではないでしょうか。船底に固定のためのネジ穴を開けネジを切るのが、少々厄介な作業ではありますが。
The TAMIYA's kit are made the bottom of ship with dicast and the
relief of the name SHIMAKAZE is carved on it. The dicast bottom
has weight with heavily and the name relief is quite good taste.
The finished SHIMAKAZE is usually fixed on the exhibition plate
by using screws, it is a little troublesome work. to make holes
for fixation.
２０００年１０月に延ばしランナーを使って前後マスト間に張り線を施してみました。あと、２５ｍｍ連装機銃、内火艇ダビッド、魚雷積み込みダビッドを、エッチングパーツに換装しました。
さらに、「島風」は舞鶴工廠で竣工し舞鶴鎮守府所属になりましたので、舞鶴工廠色で外舷を塗粧し直しました。以前は特にこだわらず呉工廠色で塗っていたのですが、一旦砲塔やダビッドをすべて取り外し、リノリウム部分をマスキングして塗装し直しました。結構手間がかかりましたが、最初から作り直すよりは圧倒的に時間は短くて済みました。
In October 2000, the
tension lines were performed around the masts of SHIMAKAZE . I don't use the 0.037mmφ
metal line for sweetfish fishing but the extended thin plastic
stick . Also, I
changed the 25mm twin MG, motor launch davits and the torpedo
loading derrick to the etching parts.
Furthermore
, previous SHIMAKAZE that was showed in this site was painted
with Kure arsenal color, I applied to her with the Maizuru arsenal color. SHIMAKAZE was completed in the
Maizuru arsenal and was belonging to the Maizuru naval district.
At first I removed all turrets and davits and covered the
linoleum part with a masking tape. Then I painted again with
Maizuru arsenal color. This method is the work that the trouble
is required fairly, but you can get finished shorter than
remaking it from the beginning.
