第９戦隊 北上（きたかみ）
9S KITAKAMI
キットはピットロードから９９年春に出たスグレもので、特に多大な修正を必要とする箇所は見当たりません。但し、キットには舷外電路のモールドがないのですが、「北上」「大井」の場合重雷装艦に改装された昭和１６年末はすでに開戦準備（出師準備）がほとんどの艦で実施されていたわけですから、当然舷外電路も装着した状態で改装されていますので、キットにもつけるべきでしょう。まさか舷外電路のない重雷装艦「北上」「大井」を製作しようという人はいないと思いますので、メーカーとしても一考して欲しいですね。（
もちろんモールドを追加することで、金型コストが跳ね上がる可能性が高いことを承知した上での、ユーザーとしてのわがままな発言ではありますが。
）
The kit which was commercialized in the spring of 1999 from the
PITROAD company is a excellent kit without the necessity of
additional modification.
The mold of the degaussing coils is not attached to this kit. I
think that it should be commercialized in the condition which the
degaussing coils are equipped, because outbreak of war
preparation including the degaussing coil was performed to most
of the ships at the end of Showa 16. Because there will be no
person intend to make the heavy torpedo-equipped ship KITAKAMI
and OI that have no degaussing coil, I hope the deliberation of
the maker to commercialize.
さてこの艦は、９９年７月に横浜で開催されました「戦前船舶研究会・第２回模型研究会」に出品する目的で起工されました。当日の会のテーマが『重雷装艦』でしたので、この「北上」と「島風」を派遣しました。
実艦はほとんど活躍の機会がないまま、すぐに輸送艦の扱いを受け、改装に次ぐ改装を受けるハメになってしまったのは残念なところです。片舷２０発の魚雷一斉射出の威力をちょっとでも試して欲しかったですね。
Well, this
ship was made in order to display for the 2nd shipmodel study
meeting
that was held in Yokohama in July, 1999. Because the theme of
this meeting was 'a heavy torpedo-equipped ship, KITAKAMI and
SHIMAKAZE were dispatched.
As for a real KITAKAMI, there was no opportunity of remarkable
activity and soon became a transport ship. Regrettably, KITAKAMI
received the remodeling after remodeling.
I wanted to see the power of torpedoes of 20 emission that were
discharged simultaneously.
なお、２０００年１２月に伸ばしランナーによる張り線を追加してディテールアップしました。また、製作当初外舷色に特にこだわっていなかったので呉工廠色で塗装していたのですが、今回佐世保工廠色に塗装し直しました。（塗装し直しは、手塗りではなくエアブラシを使っています。一旦パーツを取り外して、船体をエアブラシで塗装したのち、パーツを再び取りつけています。）
開戦当時の「北上」の所属は横須賀鎮守府ですが、昭和１６年夏から開戦時まで佐世保工廠にて重雷装艦への改造工事が行われていましたので、佐世保工廠色にしました。本格的な出動となったミッドウェイ作戦の時にも、その直前に佐世保工廠に入渠して整備を行っていますので、この当時の「北上」の外舷色は佐世保工廠色の可能性が高いと思います。
Additionally, the
tension lines are stretched between the front and back mast using the extended thin plastic
stick in December 2000. At the beginning of the production, I did
not concern to hull color. So, previous KITAKAMI was showed here
painted with Kure arsenal color. The work in this time I coated
KITAKAMI again with paint to Sasebo arsenal color.
At the time of outbreak of war, KITAKAMI was Yokosuka naval
district assignment. But the reconstruction work to the heavy
torpedo-equipped ship has been carried out in the Sasebo arsenal
from summer in Showa 16 to
the time of outbreak of war. KITAKAMI have upgraded in the Sasebo
arsenal before at the time of the Midway Operation.
I think that the hull color of KITAKAMI in that time has no
problem with Sasebo arsenal color. So, I applied with Sasebo
arsenal color.
