第１８駆逐隊　「陽炎」（かげろう）
18Des.Div. "KAGERO"

　ようやく、日本海軍の代表的駆逐艦である「陽炎」を登場させることが出来ました。基本的には先に作った「初春」や「朝潮」と同じレベルでの製作でして、特に工作に変化はありません。
　前煙突の両サイド及び後部甲板左舷にあるスキッドビームですが、この「陽炎」からはキットのプラパーツをなるべく薄く削り、ピンバイスで孔を開けてトラス構造にしています。従来使ってきたスキッドビーム用のエッチングパーツは、実艦のスキッドビームに比べて薄すぎるので、今後使わないことにしました。実艦の写真を見ますと、各艦ともスキッドビームの柱は結構な厚みを持っていて存在感が大きく、そのためエッチングパーツではこの厚みの表現と存在感が難しいと考えられるからです。

　 Finally,"KAGERO" of the typical destroyer of the IJN(Imperial Japanese Navy) was completed. It was made by the same production method and achived the same completion level as the IJN destroyer"HATSUHARU"and"ASASHIO"made previously.
　The skidbeams in both sides of the front funnel and the back deck port were shaved thinly from parts of kit accessory , and the holes were drilled with pinvise.
　Because there is no thickness too much, etching parts for skid beam which it kept using so far won't be used as much as possible from now on. According to the photographs of destroyers, the pillar of skidbeam had fine thickness to each destroyer. So, the expression of this thickness and a feeling of the existence are difficult by the etching parts.

　追加工作として、伸ばしランナーで張り線を行っています。実艦は、前後マストの間が「朝潮」や「初春」より若干複雑な張り方になっているようです。また、内火ランチダビッド、魚雷運搬デリック、２５ｍｍ連装機銃をエッチングパーツに換装しました。

Additionally, the tension lines are stretched between the front and back mast of KAGERO using the extended thin plastic stick. The tension lines of the real ship KAGERO were slightly complicated than ASASHIO or HATSUHARU. As it is ordinary, I change the motor launch davits, torpedo transport derrick and 25mm twin MG to the etching parts.
